Troubleshooting
If you have any questions regarding technical problems we'd like to suggest the following steps:
1st step: Manuals, PDF Documents
First, use the manuals that came with your product! You will be surprised how many answers you can find in the documentation. A part of the documentation often comes as online manuals (.PDF-files) on your program CD. They contain detailed information about parts of the program and special troubleshooting tips.
2nd step: ReadMe files
The ReadMe-files which were installed together with your program contain important information that was not included in the manual.
3rd step: Latest program version
Free updates can be downloaded from the
downloads page for both the Mac and PC platforms. Please make sure that you have installed the latest version of your Steinberg products.
4th step: Knowledge Base
The
Steinberg knowledge base is the central Steinberg support database, featuring detailed answers to questions such as "How do I configure my system?" and "How do I get the best performance from my system?"
5th step: Community forums
Our well known
forums are a great opportunity to get in touch with other Steinberg users, and many problems can be resolved quickly with the help of some handy hints found there. Our product support specialists are also on hand to help out with their expert advice.
6th step: Email support
Here you can find a list of all Steinberg distributors. These companies represent Steinberg in their respective regions and should be contacted by both dealers and customers for email support.
The support request form we also offer is limited to registered customers of the United States of America! If you are not registered in the U.S. please use the distributor search above to find your local distributor. The distributor is responsible for your support requests.
7th step: Telephone support
Steinberg Support assistants are on hand to answer your queries by telephone. Please contact your regional Steinberg distributor for contact details and telephone numbers for your region. To be able to do so, you must have registered your product. This entails sending in the registration card that is included in the software package.
