Software/Hardware Integration
Cubase SX3 seamlessly integrates external equipment via MIDI Device Panels and supports the »Yamaha Studio Manager« to directly integrate external instruments and effect devices.
Studio Connections
Studio Connections is an innovative technology that links Steinberg's software with mixers, instruments and effects offered by Yamaha and third-party vendors. This modular editing system affords you total control over the entire studio using Cubase SX3 and the optional Yamaha Studio Manager. You can recall the entire studio’s settings when you open a Cubase SX3 project. Graphical editing panels are available for Yamaha hardware, and you can use external sound generators such VST instruments.
External Instruments/FX
External FX plug-ins enable you to integrate external hardware effect units directly into the VST Audio Mixer. With version Cubase SX 3.1, you can now do the same for external instruments. This means you plug any hardware sound generator or signal processor in directly - of course, with automatic latency compensation. Flawless integration is achieved courtesy of Studio Connections.
MIDI Device Panels
MIDI Device Maps/Panels afford direct access to external MIDI hardware via freely definable graphical knobs. Preprogrammed panels are available for many devices and can be imported directly. This also goes for VST Mixer Maps derived from older Cubase versions. Using an editor offering an extensive tool set, you can create individual control panels - even in the Track Inspector and the mixer channel strip.
Remote Control
Cubase SX3 supports numerous external hardware controllers that let you control the VST Mixer remotely. Many reputable vendors’ controllers are supported directly, and you can opt to use these if you wish. Alternatively, you can set up any other MIDI device equipped with the appropriate knobs as a generic controller and use it to operate the Mixer and adjust the parameters of VST instruments and effect plug-ins.
