• This package installs the audio and MIDI driver incl. the control panel software.
• Installation: Unplug the MI|4 from USB port, download the driver package and mount the discimage, start installation from there and follow the instructions. After a reboot plug in the MI|4 again.
• Please use firmware 1.0.6 with this driver!
• This driver version can be only used with Cubase SL 3 or higher in conjunction with Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.x) and is NOT compatible with Cubase SL 2 from the Cubase System|4 package.

Firmware check: To verify the currently used firmware of the MI|4 device open the Steinberg MI|4 control panel from the folder "Applications". There, click on the "YingYang" symbol to display the firmware version. We recommend to use firmware 1.0.6. If this version is not yet installed use the update tool to update it.

Please read this carefully before performing a firmware update:

• The update tool can be used on PowerPC or PC Windows systems only!
• Please check if an update of the firmware is required at all. After the start of the firmware update, the current version of the firmware inside the hardware is displayed. If this version is higher or equal to the version of the firmware update, do not start the update process!
• Attention: If there is a version higher than 1.0.6 displayed no firmware update is necessary!
• While the update is in progress the connection between the computer and the hardware or the update process itself must not be interrupted! Also, do not power down the computer. Improper handling of the firmware update can render the hardware useless and the unit may require repair. Steinberg is not liable for repair charges, even if within the warranty period.
