127th AES Convention 2009
The AES hosts some of the largest conventions in the United States and Europe, attracting professionals and aficionados from all over the world. This year’s 127th AES convention took place in New York on October 9–12, providing audio-tech-related workshops, tutorials and seminars as well as a vast trade show area where excellent opportunities for good business were written.
Steinberg was also present to show off its hottest products. Placed on a pedestal was the brand-new CI2 USB audio interface and Advanced Integration controller, an entry-level hardware solution combined with Cubase AI 5 which together offer an as-yet unknown level of ease of use for recording and producing music. Second in line Steinberg showcased the MR816 CSX/X FireWire interfaces and the CC121 USB controller with recent firmware updates, introducing extended control options and workflow enhancements that further streamline production processes.
Also basking in the spotlight were the entire Cubase line of DAWs, now complete with the release of the Cubase Essential 5 music production system, plus the exceptional The Grand 3 VSTi with its first-rate collection of virtual pianos.
Steinberg’s booth was busy throughout the four days. Onlookers got a detailed tour of the gear on display while our representatives enjoyed meeting and exchanging ideas with business partners. Receiving positive follow-ups after the show, we are already now looking forward to next year’s AES convention in San Francisco.
