Steinberg at the AES Convention in San Francisco
Steinberg returned to home base to report an exciting four days at the 125th AES Convention in San Francisco. With 407 exhibits on the floor and a precise 17,892 attendees, many of whom had covered great distances, the show was bustling from day one to the very last minute. But since all good things must come to an end, this convention also finished with booths being disassembled and visitors returning home.
While the show lasted, Steinberg presented its Nuendo 4 post-production software operating in unison with products by Euphonix on one side of its booth, leaving room on the other side for Steinberg’s new hardware. Here the CC121 USB controller plus the MR816 CSX and MR816 X FireWire interfaces were showcased along with Cubase 4.5 and Nuendo 4.2, recently updated versions featuring improvements and full support of Steinberg’s Advanced Integration technology. And with the product specialists giving individual presentations and always up for an in-depth conversation, countless post-production and broadcasting professionals were enticed to seize the opportunity and stayed a while longer.
The crowd’s main interest was focused on the innovative hardware with its seamless integration of both MR816 CSX and MR816 X FireWire interfaces into Cubase and Nuendo. As for the CC121 USB controller, it convinced Cubase and Nuendo users alike with its intuitive means of control and expeditious workflow. “Our hardware with its integration into our software has left an indelible impression on all passers-by here at the AES in San Francisco. Admittedly, the very positive feedback about this product line from our customers hasn’t taken me by surprise. The fact is, our gear is all about high quality and innovation, two traits which have always been embraced by Steinberg,” remarks product marketing manager Stefan Schreiber.
“Wrapping it up, the AES has been an important show for Steinberg, inspiring discussions and many opportunities to garner feedback and input from our customers and the industry,” Schreiber concludes.
