Steinberg at the SAE Alumni Convention in Berlin

On October 16–17, the SAE Institute, the world’s largest training center for audio and multimedia, opened their doors once again to accommodate the SAE Alumni Convention in Berlin. The new complex of buildings on Soltauer Strasse houses a round dozen recording studios and numerous seminar rooms. Traditionally, the Alumni Convention is not only hosted for graduates and students, who work in almost every field of the media industry, but along with the exhibition it is also a place where audio enthusiasts from across Germany and Central Europe get to meet.

This year Steinberg was yet again present with a wide range of products which were set up in two acoustically optimized studio rooms. In the first room, Nuendo 4.2 was displayed on a large LCD screen and controlled via a 24-fader WK Audio ID Controller. Many expert talks regarding picture-related audio production and numerous product presentations held by our product specialists show the audience’s great interest for one of the world’s most popular audio-post-production tools.

In the second studio suite, convention participants had the chance to experience Steinberg’s Cubase 4.5 music software together with the highly praised CC121 and the high-quality MR816 X/CSX interfaces. The CC121 controller, the ideal solution for controlling Cubase 4.5 functions from an intuitive control panel, was in demand by the audience and tested directly on site. Many visitors also took the chance to have a look at the Advanced Integration features of the new MR816 audio interfaces. They were not only impressed by technical features such as latency-free monitoring and the renowned REV-X reverb, but also by its superior sound quality, which was at its best within the acoustically treated studio rooms.

“The SAE Alumni Convention 2008 was a big success for Steinberg. We are glad about the enormous interest in Nuendo 4 and the numerous positive feedbacks regarding our post-production software. Many audio engineers of the coming generation see Nuendo as an ideal solution to realize picture-related audio production,” comments Timo Wildenhain, product marketing manager at Steinberg. “Many visitors also were enthused by the MR816 audio interfaces. The big interest on our hardware clearly shows that for many musicians and sound engineers technical innovations and excellent audio quality play a decisive role,” Timo Wildenhain continues.
