Axxis Back with New Album
Axxis, the band formed around lead singer Bernhard Weiss, released their latest album UTOPIA on August 28, 2009, just in time for their 20th anniversary and boasting many guest appearances including Doro, Schmier (Destruction), David Readman (Pink Cream 69), Rolf Stahlhofen (former Soehne Mannheims member), Claus Lessman (Bonfire) and Walter Pietsch (former Axxis member), just to name a few. Once again Cubase constituted an essential part in producing this 11-track long player that entered the German charts shortly after its release.
“For some years we’ve successfully been working with Cubase, however, in the past were never inspired by the internal and external Steinberg instruments. With our new album, we knew exactly how it was supposed to sound like up front, and we wanted to realize our ideas without having to compromise in any way,” says Bernhard Weiss, lead singer and producer of the band.
“We enjoyed using HALion Symphonic Orchestra and HALion ONE to create awesome pads and brilliant lead sounds,” Weiss continues. “The ease and speed with which Cubase lets us bring our concepts to fruition has simply been amazing. When it comes to automation, recording and routing, Cubase makes everything imaginable possible!”
Keyboardist Harry Oellers about Cubase: “Due to the clear arrangement and flexibility of this program, we achieved good results in just a short time, resolving difficult situations effortlessly. We were also impressed by the time-stretching functionality.”
“As for the synthies, apart from the HALion ONE sample player we also strained the Embracer. Playing the HALion Symphonic Orchestra was a piece of cake when compared to similar products, not to forget its exceptional sound quality!” adds Oellers.
Axxis are gigging until December. For more information, visit www.axxis.de and their MySpace page at www.myspace.com/axxisworld.
