m.i.p.a. for Charlie Steinberg
Steinberg would like to congratulate Karl “Charlie” Steinberg, co-founder of this company, for being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s m.i.p.a. Commencing in 1984 with the Pro-16 sequencer for the Commodore 64, Charlie Steinberg has introduced several music software applications and revolutionary technologies, the most popular possibly being VST (Virtual Studio Technology) and ASIO (Audio Stream Input/Output), under his name.
The m.i.p.a. association praised Charlie Steinberg's achievements in its elaborate speech: “Charlie Steinberg has significantly influenced the development of music software for the past 25 years — he was at the right spot at the right time and had the right ideas.”
While Charlie Steinberg primarily produces and performs music today, he continues to act as consultant to Steinberg Media Technologies. His knowledge and talent are always very much appreciated and invaluable to our products’ further development.
The m.i.p.a. (Musikmesse International Press Award) is an important award for the MI and pro-audio industry, where 112 magazines from all over the world vote for the best of last year’s products. More than 300 representatives of manufacturers and distributors attended the show which was held yesterday evening at the Frankfurt Musikmesse.
