Steinberg has always supported educational institutions by offering discounts on individual software purchases and additional discounts on multi-license purchases. Steinberg education discounts for Students and Teachers
Steinberg is pleased to offer education discounts to Academics and Students.
Steinberg discounts apply to:
- Teachers, educators, students of universities, public and private (music) schools, and SAE Institutes
- Students who are enrolled in a Steinberg Certified Training Course (this does not include seminars and short term courses)
- Full-time teachers who are currently working at an educational institution
- Steinberg Certified Training partners
Limitations of education products
- Education products may not be utilized for commercial use
- Private education license for students and teachers/educators: The software may be installed on one computer only and may be used by the license owner only.
- Education license for institutions: The software may be used by teachers and students of the validated institution only.
Please note: educational rebates are only available for full versions, not for updates and upgrades.
Updates and upgrades from EDU versions are available for the regular price.
How to obtain an educational product
There are two ways to purchase Steinberg EDU products:
- Take your EDU status proof to your local Steinberg Dealer and your local dealer can provide you with a full range of Steinberg EDU products.
- Online: If you belong to one of the groups mentioned above then please e-mail your scanned or photographed proof to eduproof(sb)steinberg.net. If you act as a teacher for an institution you may also use this PDF form.
Please make sure that the proof of eligibility is legible, contains the date of issue, if applicable the date of expiry and a valid stamp of your facility. It’s also important that you provide a valid e-mail address so that we can send you a personalized link for the Steinberg Online Shop.

Once we have received your proof of eligibility we will send a personalized link for the Steinberg Online Shop to the e-mail address you have provided. With this link you can buy Steinberg's educational products in the Steinberg Online Shop with discounts of up to 50 %.
