MySteinberg is our customer portal, where every Steinberg customer may set up and maintain a user account, register products and gain access to additional exclusive services. Here are some of the advantages:

Setting up an account only takes a few minutes. Please have a look at the explanation below to proceed.
Opening an account
You'll find an entry labeled “MySteinberg” at the very top of the Steinberg homepage. Click it to access the customer area of the same name. To set up a new account, click "Create user account".
Begin opening your account by selecting your country from a pop-up list. Then the actual form appears. Enter your name and contact data as well as a user name and password. Remember it well, because nobody but you knows or can view the password!
The form also lets you subscribe to newsletters and cancel your subscription and select the preferred computer platform. On the next page you can also read Steinberg's data privacy statement and decide if you wish to grant your local Steinberg distributor insight into your account — given that it is not Steinberg itself that is responsible for your country. If you do not grant the distributor access, he cannot corroborate your registration and offer you upgrades for your registered products. Your Steinberg distributor also needs to see your account data to provide individual support. Regardless of your decision, your MySteinberg information shall not be used for any other purpose.
Once you have entered all data correctly and accepted the data privacy statement, you can finish opening your new MySteinberg account by clicking "Create account now". To prevent misuse, we will send a message to the e-mail address you have provided. This mail contains a link that activates your user account as soon as you click it to confirm. Now you can login at MySteinberg, view and edit your personal data and, of course, register your Steinberg products.
You can register any Steinberg product for which upgrades and support offers are still available. As soon as you have registered your user data and logged in at MySteinberg, you can begin registering products by clicking the Register products button on the left. The first step of the online registration procedure distinguishes between two product types:
- Product with a USB-eLicenser/Steinberg Key or Soft-eLicenser:
All current Steinberg programs are using an USB-eLicenser or Soft-eLicenser for the license management. An USB-eLicenser is a small USB plug that can store software licenses independently from the software. Licenses for programs that do not require an USB-eLicenser are stored in the Soft-eLicenser, a virtual license container on the hard disk.
- Register Steinberg Hardware:

The following sections describe separately the procedure for each product type. The differences are minor, chiefly due to the number required for registration.
Products with a USB-eLicenser/Steinberg Key
If you have a USB-eLicenser/Steinberg Key, you will need its number now. This number is shown in the so called eLicenser Control Center (eLCC), which is software required by the USB-eLicenser and Soft-eLicenser. It is installed automatically with every Steinberg application. You can find the eLicenser Control Center as an individual application in the program files folder of your system. The latest version of the eLCC can be downloaded here.
The eLicenser Control Center lists all connected USB-eLicensers and Soft-eLicensers including their licenses. You will notice a 12- or 13-digit (USB-eLicenser) or 20-digit (Soft-eLicenser) number for every eLicenser. This number is required for the MySteinberg registration process. If the number(s) appear to be incomplete or are not shown at all, please install the latest version of the eLCC.
Use the eLicenser number to proceed with the registration process in MySteinberg.
Another box gives you the option of naming your USB-eLicenser/Steinberg Key. You can register several USB-eLicensers and Soft-eLicensers in the same account, so a meaningful name makes it easier to identify individual eLicensers.
Once you have entered the eLicenser number correctly and clicked Register product(s), all licenses contained in the USB-eLicenser/Steinberg Key are registered for you. That’s all it takes to register. For your convenience, your account automatically registers the licenses you acquire later (e.g. for upgrades) and store on your eLicenser. The account is always up to date and contains all licenses on eLicensers.
Register Steinberg hardware
Selecting this option provides you with a drop down list of our hardware products that can be registered. Usually, the serial number can be found on a sticker on the device itself. You may not be able to registered old hardware products anymore and thus those products are not part of the drop down list.
Data protection and security
A few closing remarks on data privacy and the security of your MySteinberg account:
We take data privacy and the security of your user account very seriously. Any data that you send to MySteinberg is encoded, routed exclusively via SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and cannot be seen by third parties.
Alongside security, MySteinberg affords you utmost transparency: in your account you can view all data that Steinberg has stored in your personal records. And only you know the password to your MySteinberg account. It is not indicated to Steinberg employees. This is why we are unable to tell you your password should you have forgotten it. Instead, we generate a new password (which also remains unknown to us) at your request and send it to the e-mail address indicated in your customer account.
Rest assured that no one but you and Steinberg have access to your data. None of your personal information will ever be released to any third party without your consent. Steinberg distributors are granted no access to a customer account without the customer's express consent. This is why when you open an account, you have the option of affording the Steinberg distributor in your country insight into your MySteinberg account.
Please note that without knowing your licensing data, a distributor can neither check available upgrade options nor provide individual support!
