Important information for OS X 10.8 users

As you might know, the new operating system from Apple, OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion", is now available. OS X 10.8 comes with a new security mechanism called "Gatekeeper" which prevents installations from dubious developers.  All applications are now required to be digitally signed with an Apple Developer ID and thus each installer must be recompiled by the developers. If an application is unsigned, Gatekeeper will simply block the installation and warn the user about the unidentified program.

Currently, all Steinberg application installers and updaters, which are downloaded from the Internet and then run from your local hard disk, are directly affected and will be blocked by Gatekeeper. Steinberg installers run from CD or DVD are not affected.
