Seamless integration of selected Yamaha Hardware
Nuendo 4 offers seamless integration of selected Yamaha hardware such as keyboards, synthesizers and mixers. This includes:
- Studio Connections “Recall” technology: saves and recalls all studio settings with a single mouse click within Nuendo.
- Full Plug&Play support: all settings for connected hardware such as driver selection, input and output routing setup as well as remote configuration are all completely automated.
Yamaha MOTIF-RACK XS / MOTIF XS6/7/8
Nuendo automatically detects any Yamaha MOTIF XS unit which is connected via FireWire (IEEE1394) to the computer. The detected MOTIF is automatically configured and immediately ready to use as an external VST3 instrument.
Yamaha KX25/KX49/KX61/KX8 USB Keyboard
The support for the KX series includes direct control of the Track Quick Controls. This way the most important parameters of a Nuendo track, including effects, MIDI FX and track settings are always present on the KX hardware knobs with direct access and always in sync with the currently selected track.
Integrating External FX and Instruments
External effect processors and MIDI sound generators may be integrated directly into Nuendo and used as plug-ins. All you have to do is set up the external devices once by selecting the physical I/0s and assigning names. Then the external devices will appear in all plug-in and VST instrument selection menus and you may use the immediately. Best of all, Nuendo features automatic latency compensation to make up for the delay produced by the hardware’s AD/DA converters.
Track Quick Controls
This set of eight user-definable real-time controllers gives ultra-fast access to any parameter available on the current track. Significantly speeding up workflow, Quick Controls are available for Audio, MIDI and Instrument Tracks, and can control any mixer parameter for audio and instrument tracks, insert plug-in parameters, VSTi parameters and MIDI controllers for MIDI and instrument tracks. Track Quick Control assignments are setup for each track and saved with both the project and in the Track Presets so they’re always available in any project once setup and saved. The Track Quick Controls develop their full potential when used in combination with a remote controller. Setup is easy thanks to a handy MIDI learn function. Once assigned, remote control knobs or fader functions will follow the track selection.
MIDI Device Maps/Panels
This lets you switch external devices’ presets remotely from Nuendo, and even edit individual parameters on the devices via freely definable graphic controls within Nuendo.
Preprogrammed panels are available for many devices and can be imported directly. What’s more, you can create individual control panels using an editor offering an extensive tool set. These panels may even be integrated directly into the Track Inspector and the mixer channel strip, thereby granting you direct access to frequently used parameters.
