Visual Nuendo 4

MIDI Functions

Nuendo 4 includes a comprehensive toolset of MIDI functions for controlling synthesizers, samplers and FX hardware or synching to MIDI-based protocols.

Both the Project window and Mixer show MIDI tracks and channels alongside the audio tracks/channels. What’s more you can manipulate all MIDI data with tools much like those serving to edit audio material.
When you’re tasked to process with MIDI data, you’re sure to enjoy the powerful editors - Key and List editors are on board.
If you wish, you may use integrated MIDI effect plug-ins while playing to manipulate MIDI parameters in real time. The Inplace editor lets you process MIDI data directly in the Project window in context with other tracks.

Picture Key Editor

External MIDI devices are easily integrated: Nuendo lets you create multiple MIDI ports for sending and receiving regular MIDI data and transferring MTC (MIDI time code) and MMC (MIDI Machine Control).

With the MIDI Device Manager, you can control external MIDI sound generators directly from Nuendo. Alongside standard functions such as preset selection and global parameter control, the MIDI Device Manager offers potent tools for creating custom MIDI Device Maps/Panels. These comprise freely definable graphical controls that let you very handily control external MIDI devices.

More MIDI functionality is available through the Nuendo Expansion Kit: Cubase Music Tools for Nuendo 4.
