Nuendo 4 Update Assistant
Nuendo 4 has been designed to provide a first-class production solution for audio post, studio production and live recording, and the new features offer dedicated tools for specialist professionals from these industries. With Nuendo 4, features that are required only for music composition such as scoring and notation have been moved to a special add-on module. Nuendo 4 customers can add these features by obtaining the module, which is called Nuendo Expansion Kit: Cubase Music Tools for Nuendo. Nuendo customers requiring these music composition features can order the NEK module alongside the update to Nuendo 4 in one easy step. With the option to update with or without NEK, Steinberg offers more flexibility for Nuendo customers to tailor their software to the demands of their production environment. Nuendo 4 Update

The Nuendo 4 update offers all the new features presented on the Nuendo 4 New Features page. This update is the ideal choice for audio post and recording professionals, as you only pay for features you need.
Compared to the previous Nuendo 3 version, the new Nuendo 4 no longer includes the Score and MIDI Drum Editors. While the VSTi plug-ins included with Cubase 4 are also not included in the Nuendo 4 update, Nuendo 4 offers full support for VST instruments, including any already in use with Nuendo 3. The new version also offers full MIDI functionality.*
Nuendo 4 Update including Nuendo Expansion Kit (NEK)

Even without the NEK module, Nuendo 4 fully supports loading and editing of Cubase projects. If you require full notation functionality, for example to create scores, or a special Drum Editor for MIDI drum parts, then the NEK module is a worthy additional investment. On top of all the new Nuendo 4 features, adding NEK to your update order offers the Cubase 4 Score Editor for full score editing and printing including MusicXML support as well as four VST instruments – HALion One, Prologue, Spector and Mystic – and the MIDI Drum Editor from Cubase 4. Crossgrade to Cubase 4

For technical reasons, the Cubase license is removed when updating to Nuendo 4. Please contact your regional distributor with your Steinberg Key number, who will provide a new Cubase license.
