Automation
Nearly all mix parameters of the various channel types in the Nuendo Mixer may be automated. Effect plug-ins and VST instruments also sport individual Read/Write buttons for recording parameter changes. Global Read/Write buttons are available for arming the entire mixer.
Nuendo 3 puts five different Automation modes - Touch Fader, Auto latch, X-Over, Overwrite and Trim - at your fingertips to expedite your workflow in every situation. Return Time is adjustable in each mode.
Every track in the Project window contains automation sub-tracks for all automatable parameters of the given track type, which you can show and hide on demand. Several automation tracks may be recorded simultaneously for each track, so Nuendo lets you common parameter pairs in parallel, for instance Pan left/right and Pan front/back.
A set of mouse tools lets you create, delete, edit and of course move and copy automation data at will. Preprogrammed curve types such as Sine, Triangle, and Parabola are available for use with the line and curve tools; the enable you to quickly create rhythmic automation envelopes. When you move/copy/insert an event, its automation data automatically moves right along with it, if you wish.
