Softube

Founded in 2003 in Sweden, Softube AB develops mathematical models and DSP algorithms for audio software. It emulates vintage tube and transistor preamplifiers, amplifiers and loudspeakers, also engaging in creating great-sound studio effects.

Acoustic Feedback

Screaming guitar feedback made easy — release your inner beast with the first realistic guitar feedback simulator on the market. Go from moderate and subtle to rampant and wild at the twist of a knob (or two). To break new musical ground, try inputting a synthesizer, a violin, or even your mother’s grand piano. Acoustic Feedback comes bundled with a limited version of the White amp from Vintage Amp Room.

  • Realistic simulation (physical modeling) of guitar feedback.
  • Fully responsive to vibratos, bends, slides, tremolos, etc.
  • Simple user interface: Control amount of feedback with the Feedback knob and sensitivity with the Tolerance knob.
  • Compatible with foot controls via MIDI
  • Includes a stripped-down, but extremely useful, version of the White amp from Vintage Amp Room

Bass Amp Room

Bass Amp Room consists of a classic bass amplifier model, three distinctive speaker cabinets with click-and-drag mics, and a blendable DI section with tone controls and a limiter. And it's all you need to create a unique signature sound — the strength lies in the ease of use of the individual blocks and the huge range of sounds these can produce when combined. Bass Amp Room is all about getting a sound you know you can trust, and getting it quickly.

  • Authentic amp and cabinet modeling
  • Easy to use mix and DI panel
  • Built-in one-knob limiter in DI panel
  • Flexible and continuous click-and-drag mic positioning
  • Amp/Cab Bypass possibilities let you use cabinets from other Amp Room products

FET Compressor

When creating FET Compressor, Softube set out to make the most accurate emulation of the most famous solid-state compressor. Instead of modeling individual features and putting them together digitally, Softube have modeled the unit in its entirety: input and output stages, gain reduction feedback loops, bias differences of different transistors, etc.

  • Modeled analog compressor, input and output stages
  • Super fast attack time (just like the original)
  • Sweet input and output stage distortion
  • Very CPU friendly
  • Parallel compression, external side chain, look-ahead and more

Metal Amp Room

Metal Amp Room was designed to bring you the most brutal, evil and aggressive sound that can be squeezed out of your DAW. It was co-developed with Patrik Jensen (The Haunted) and tailored to his needs. It features continuous mic placement and twin mics with adjustable stereo panning. Get huge stereo sounds with adjustable phasing effects, a plain old one-mic-right-against-the-cone, or anything in between. The cabinets were measured in the In Flames studio (former Studio Fredman) by Tue Madsen and Patrik Jensen.

  • Brutal metal amp with a raw and authentic sound
  • Program-dependent guitar noise gate
  • Two cabs with two mics per cabinet
  • Easy to use balancing stereo mic preamp for balancing the two click-and-drag mics
  • Amp/Cab Bypass possibilities let you use cabinets from other Amp Room products

Passive-Active Pack

The Passive-Active Pack is a collection of three very different equalizers, each contain emulations of real workhorse equalizers, used on thousands of recordings from past to present. Passive Equalizer is a three-band EQ with an unprecedented clear and open sound, a warm low end and sparkling top. Active Equalizer is Passive's counterpart with three fully parametric bands and a tight and focused sound. Focusing Equalizer is an unconventional take on the EQ concept: the low, mid and high bands move automatically and musically in relation to the high- and low-cut filters. It also features filters from the Passive and Active EQs as well as an outstanding one-knob saturation control.

  • Authentic component modeling
  • Passive: Wide and open sound
  • Active: Tight and focused sound
  • Focusing: Musically adaptable filters
  • Focusing: Outstanding one-knob saturation

Spring Reverb

Spring Reverb is an authentic spring reverb recreation that will add vintage character and grit to any audio track. It also includes novel features such as a fully automatable Shake control that will shake the virtual strings around for those thunderous spring effects, and a Tension control that tightens or loosens the springs to cover a wide range of spring reverb sounds.

  • Shake control that shakes the springs around
  • Tension control to shape the spring character and reverb length
  • Number of spring pairs continuously adjustable from 1 to 3
  • Tube driver simulation with Bass and Treble in the reverb section
  • Very CPU friendly

Tube Delay

Tube Delay is a marriage between analog and digital, combining the warmth and natural compression from tubes with the features and versatility of a digital delay. The effect is perfect for fattening vocal tracks, adding slap-back echo to drums or getting a gritty delay for guitars!

  • 1,000 ms delay
  • Sync tempo to host
  • Vintage style passive EQ
  • Gritty feedback feature
  • Tube preamp simulation
