Problem with doing "Maintenance" on eLicenser

Problem with doing "Maintenance" on eLicenser

Postby arstocker » Fri Dec 07, 2012 7:43 am

Has anyone seen this problem before with the eLicenser where it fails to recover license transactions when performing a maintenance? Pictures are attached.

I am already running the latest version of eLicenser.

Thanks!

Yes, I get this error. Trying to get my grace upgrade from 6.5 to 7. It won't upgrade, and always fails step 5.

Tried many versions of eLCC, on 3 different systems. Disabled firewalls and put system in DMZ. Contacted support over a week ago and no reply. I think this is an issue with the licensing server but I would like confirmation from Steinberg.

Did you manage to get it working?

I have been communicating with Steinberg and so far they have not been able to find a fix to it. I have even tried to do this on 3 different machines with Windows Vista, 7 and 8 with the same results. I guess we will have to wait and see what they say.

BTW, I was able to still able to download Cubase 7 due to the grace period and the software runs fine. I just wanted to make sure my license is properly updated in the USB licenser in case I need to do another upgrade in the future.

The maintenance didn't upgrade my license and I still have my 6.5. I entered my elicenser serial into the grace period checker on the website and was given the link to the cubase 7 download. So i've installed it but it won't run because I don't have a C7 license. I think if I had an activation code then I would be able to update it but I wasn't given any with the download or via email. I only have my already activated (22nd November) C6.5 activation code.
The key I have is quite old and came with SX but I don't think this is the problem though.

Did it come up with any errors when you upgraded your C6/6.5 to C7?

It's been almost 2 weeks now since I put in a support request (2 more requests since) and I haven't heard a thing from support. :(

Still fails everytime on step 5 and my license still won't upgrade from 6.5 to 7 (6.5 activated 22/11). See attached images.

Still fails everytime on step 5 and my license still won't upgrade from 6.5 to 7 (6.5 activated 22/11). See attached images.

Did you ever get it fixed. Mine still has the problem in Step 5 where it fails to recover the licenses. After 2 months I have not heard back from Steinberg. This customer support sucks big time.

I have had that exact problem on my recent upgrade too. I repeated the install several times. One thing tha t got me further thou the install process was to delete the elicenser thru windows " programs and features" in control panel. Then reboot and reinstall the new version of elicenser
