Hopefully it will be done and back online soon.

It's been 6+ hours (based on post times).

Then again, I suppose that maintenance could take that long.

Same problem here as well. Been trying to do online maintenance at different times of the day for well over a month now. My connection is fine, what's up? I PM'd Ed about the problem, no response. I guess I will try downloading latest version of elcc. :|

 What version of the software is that? Or rather, how old is it?

Update the software.

Seeing as it's not even Syncrosoft anymore...

Just to clarify: I dint' mean anything against you.

Agathodaimon wrote:but want that interfere with the other one?

The program I linked is the replacement to that one.

Steinberg acquired Syncrosoft's licensing system a while ago, renaming it to "e-licenser".

Both programs are only "control centers" for the license system. They won't affect the reading of the license itself.

you could try to download also on an other computer. Just download and install the latest version of the eLicenser Control Center on the computer and enter the activation code. The license activation doesn't need to been done on the computer where you also have Cubase installed.

Cheers,

Chris

How does that work? I couldn't get it to download on my lap top and ended up doing it on my PC. But now, how do I get that license to my laptop?

Now put the dongle with the downloaded license back to your laptop.

I read in another thread that this would make me dongle-dependent for Cubase Elements, which would defeat the purpose of me having the program in the first place. I need a non-dongle-dependent version for doing live shows.

Nothing else...
If I had known before you 're talking about elements, I wouldn' t have given you the advice with the USB key.

This elicence system is horrible, and no much help!
I re-installed cubase LE4 in my new laptop i7 together with my sound interface TASCAM US-144.
I got my new activation code and when tried to generate the new licence number to re activate, got the message "The license server is not running. Please try to connect later"
So, in order to save time, I decided to update the already working "30 days" trial version of the Cubase LE4.
After installing the update, Cubase didn't let me start it again at all, not even as a trial, giving me this message:
"Necesary files or information for the validity of the Soft-elicenser have been changed or corrupted. xx x x x x x xx xx
xx x x x x x x SeL Nr. xxxxxxx xxxxxxx and stored licences have been disabled etc etc "
Then, Cubase gave me only 2 options when starting: "Register" or "Cancel"
Now, when tryng to reactivate, the new activation code doesn't work (expired?) and also elicenser gives me an error:
"The license server is not running. Please try to connect later". It's a double screw!
I think Stainberg has to reset my activation codes and fix the sever issue.
Any ideas? I'm very frustrated and dissapointed with the product.
My Firewall has been deactivated. My system is Intel I7 with windows 7 Home premium, 4GB Ram.
Thanks

Hi,

If anyone is interested, I was having a similar problem with the Cubase 6.5 Update and it was not until I found Chris Beuermann's response for "Mon Jun 20, 2011 2:25 pm" that I was able to resolve the issue.

Thanks Chris.

I am from India, and I am facing the same problem while trying to get the permanent activation done for Cubase LE 4 (that came along with my Zoom guitar effects pedal )for more than 32 hours, are you sure the license server is down for so long? It's very frustrating.

Anyone please help me..!

Thanks,

I contacted my regional support that is Pace MediaTeck(sales@pace-mediateck.com) located at Mumbai and they were asking the same queries, whether i have followed all the steps. No one is able to resolve this problem beyond the already known steps, what's really wrong with your license servers, i have no doubt that this can have a tremendous negative effect on your lead generation - getting new customers as well as retaining existing ones if this problem is not addressed immediately. It's really really sad!!!

Do you really have any other practical solution to this quagmire.??

Wow.... finally trying to install my Cubase Artist 7, and this server problems still persists?
How is this possible that something we pay hundreds of dollars for cannot be easily installed?

The 'Online Synchronization & Maintenance' procedure finished. Some problems occurred. Details are listed below.

Step 1: FAILED (Updating eLicenser License Database)
Step 2: OK (Repairing Soft-eLicenser)
Step 3: FAILED (Validating License Usage Periods)
Step 4: OK (Cleaning up eLicenser Memory)
Step 5: FAILED (Recovering License Transactions)
Step 6: FAILED (Sending eLicenser Information)

Sigh.... why?

Yes, i just downloaded the latest eLC version 6.5.3.4114
Using a Macbook Pro
10.7.2

Could this be anything other than a server-side issue?

Thanks,
Dan
