Is there an exit app option anywhere to stop me getting a red line at the top of my ipad, unless I kill it.

To quit an app entirely, double tap the home screen and the multitask bar comes up.
Tap and hold the Cubasis app icon, until a red minus symbol appears and select it.

no, no exit button needed ... apps should just behave correctly. that is nit windows where one needs exit buttons.
