Drool at this:
These enhancements go beyond the original functionality that the device provides under Cubase but I found them very handy when working with the CC121:

1. Pressing the mute and the monitor button at the same time will swap the functionality of the volume fader and the pan encoder so the fader will control the panorama of a channel and the encoder will control the volume. This will make the automation of pan data much easier.

2. Pressing the write and the VSTi button at the same time will disable and enable the motorfader. This is usefull in many recording and mixing situations where the sound of the moving fader is disturbing. This shortcut is much easier as plugging the wall wart in and out every time to shut up the fader.

Come on Steinberg, Reaper can now use the cc121 better than Cubase, fix that!

I wonder if there ever will be a useful update for this device?
Please make it happen SB...

I expect Steinberg now regards this (IMHO) under-exploited device as obsolescent.

I don't think we'll see any further development.

Please add some new, selectable acceleration curves. This would make all the difference in the world to me, and I think many others!

yeah i was looking for this issue around web because it's totally impossible to work with EQ in my opinion.
i use all buttons on cc121 except all the eq section i'm way faster with mouse because of this "acceleration" thing

Not really. It's got some quirks but it's far from useless.

The last version with changes in functionality was 1.6 and that was released at the end of 2010 IIRC. So I wouldn't hold my breath.

Now it really starts to get funny. The CC121 controls almost any EQ under REAPER but with the latest Cubase it can't even control the internal EQ.

At least Steinberg has announced a fix for this in a later version.

Definitely needs a new injection of life - I struggle a little with it and would like more unity in layout between the controller and the software

Please "unlock" the CC121 so other Hosts can use it. Don't tie that piece of fine Hardware to Cubase/Nuendo if you can't support it properly anyway. Thanks! :-)

First they got to get it to work with Cubase 7 :o  :?

They really should open it up for use with other DAW's, as many of us work on different software from time to time. I agree sincerely.
When the Reapers do it, it is certainly possible.

Thaey have annonced a fix/update for C7 that make it fully functional with the C121 in january (we'll have to wait and see).

Some functions work of corse but not the Eq section in particular, due to incompatibility with the new Mix Console.
I have not tested my CC121 with C7 yet, beacause I have only installed C7 on a couple of test computers away from my studio. Cubase 7 is no where near my main studio computer due to several reasons.

Yes Bredo, it shouldn't be too hard. Cubase/Nuendo sends either a certain SysEx- or Midi-Signal (don't remember it all anymore) to the CC121, like once a second or so. That's all I believe.
