Trial version is for people that have not yet upgraded to v5
regular version is for v5 license holders.
Is this correct?
Thanks Timo

Also, are there any limits one should be aware of other than not running for more than 400 hours?

Hi,
please go to the trial website and follow the instructions: Nuendo 5.5 Trial version.
The only limitation is that the trial does not include the NEK. All other features can be used without limitation for 400 hours.
Thanks,
Timo

Thanks Timo!
And is run-time or "calendar time"? In other words, is it roughly 16 days, or 400 hours of the app being up and running?

If they were to buy a steinberg usb key.. would they be eligible for the trial?

AFAIK its a combination of both x-amunt of hours running the application within x-days. So if you run the application day and night, it will expire before the "days" are over and when you never use it, it will expire as soon as the "days" are over.

No, when PT is detected on the same computer, the dongle will selfdestruct within minutes.

Fredo
I just explained it above.

Fredo wrote:OK, someone set me on the wrong foot with mentioning "days".
When you have entered the activation code, have a look in the ECC.
If this works like all other Steinberg temp licenses, then you should see following:
Expiration date: xxxx-xx-xx
Remaining starts: xxx/xxx
Remaining time: xxxh/xxxh
This means that the demo license will expire at the expiration date, no matter if it has been used or not.
You can start up the program xxx times. Usually this can be reset (validate License usage period) as long as the expiration date and remaining time is not reached yet.
Remaing time is the number of hours you can have the application open. If you leave the trial version open 27/7, then it will expire very quick. If you use it only a few minutes per day, you can use it until the expiration date is reached.
