Re: Still no VST plugin manager in Cubase 7

I agree a plugin manager would be an excellent feature tho i generally use "Sort By Vendor" option....cleans up the list nicely if you have alot of plugs loaded and i find it easier to remeber a vendor name for the plug i want to use eg The Glue - Cytomic. I find I usually purchase more than one plug from a vendor so my list isnt huge eg Waves,Audio Damage,
etc

Cheers

ps keep up the good work steinberg :D

Re: 7.5.20 crashes under Windows 7 while opening OSX project

you may want to look into the environment saved with the projects under osx...there may be issues trying to load a core audio device on windows. export in osx 1st then import in win? probably easiest way.

...another 2 cents worth ;)

Re: Curve EQ demo mode?

if it doesnt want to "play nice in your sandbox" i would try putting it back where it belongs and adding that path to vstplugins list. as mine is in its default directory and working ok.worth a try.

Re: Curve EQ demo mode?

i have my prefs setup to "display by vendor" so it shows up under "Voxengo" (i have a ton of plugs from same vendors) eg "Audio Damage" etc. so i dont know where it would show up otherwise....i would assume like you it would be under EQ. try changing to display by vendor and rescan all plugs. otherwise i think "demo" problem would be one for steinberg support. good luck its a great plug :)

Re: help needed

vst connections inputs/outputs and i would also suggest reading the entire manual and perhaps some youtube tutorials.
cubase is a very complex program for someone new to the DAW world. nice choice on hardware btw ;)

there are differences between the fx available for midi and audio. i would suggest watching some tutorials and/or reading the manuals. there are very good beginer tutorials here at steinberg or on youtube.

Re: Steinberg - Subscription

as another poster mentioned. the majority are home users and only upgrade if/when they feel new features warrant the expense. no professional user would chance an update with steinbergs buggy track record. a daw isnt like adobe its a very complex setup that when stable most prefer to adhere to the surgeons motto "if it aint broke dont fix it" most other apps eg office, are not as sensetive to minor glitches hence if an update adds a few milliseconds here and there the user probably wouldnt even notice. not so with a daw, maximum stability is top priority. and as another poster mentioned it already is much like an extended subscription full upgrade every 2 years and .5 upgrade 1 year later except you are not FORCED to stay current. as is with subscriptions with time limited licenses. bad idea this isnt a word processor or pdf reader! lol case in point.. i upgraded to v8 Pro.. My Tascam board now doesnt work correctly. im sure will be fixed in a forthcoming patch but under the subscription model i would not be able to continue using v7.5 which works fine.

ps.if they dont fix it i can stay with v7.5 ive spent $100 on dumber things before lol

cheers and HNY

Re: Poll: frequent "hot fixes"or quarterly updates?

i have a better idea how about debugging major functionality issues BEFORE releasing it instead of ripping people off buying beta software? then fixes to address the "not so important" issues like cosmetics etc. this is a joke.. pro software? for who? the dj in moms basement? DJ-Wannabe just like this app a "wannabe DAW"

Re: Cubase 8 Pro was not ready for public release

quote - New versions have to be treated with caution. I wish this advice was a sticky for new users though.
(they would not make sales)
quote - It pays to wait for the demo while one works out from reviews and reports what new bits of hardware might be needed to make it all work.
(they would not make sales)
quote - If you pay for the program before the demo is ready or you have tried it, sorry, but you are a beta tester.
(then it should be priced at a beta introductory price AND labelled as such passing a beta off as RTU is outright lying)
(but then again they would not make sales)

the best and honest solution is START DEVELOPMENT EARLIER HAVE IT READY FOR THE PROJECTED RELEASE DATE!

if you must release beta at least be honest enough to say so. customers can then make an informed decision.

i feel i have been duped by the company i trusted. are customers supposed to realize and accept as default that new versions are not ready/stable/working? if that happens then:
(they definitely wont make many sales)

i have no problem sticking with 7.5 and will wait in future to buy any upgrades as im sure many will after this fiasco.
(early adopters im sure are just people who havent learned to wait till its somewhat debugged. reminds me of the old saying "its like taking candy from a baby") well......babies learn fast!

your reputation is the foundation of ANY business and should be protected at all costs.
