Re: Are you a hardcore 'gamer' or create music for 'puter ga

I would consider myself a hardcore gamer.

I have dual monitors on my home PC (studio workstation) and a laptop on a docking station next to it. I can answer emails while galloping through the countryside playing Lord of the Rings Online all day long or do mindless quests while on conference calls and answering work-related IMs via Microsoft Communicator on my laptop.

All of that is while I'm in my PJs. Hahahaha

Re: Editing instrument from Arrange page

the best is to Assign key command to open VSTI editor.
in midi editor you can also set to show the VSTI Editor icon on the tool bar area.

Why is Steinberg support so GOOD!!!!???

Why is Steinberg support so GOOD!!!!??? :) :) :) :) :) :)

I have had nothing but good experiences with SB support. Both Chris and Jeff (no, not me  ) have been very knowledgeable and helpful over the years. Support tickets are ALWAYS responded to, and promptly. The one time they weren't, there was some sort of glitch in the SB support system, and the team was apologetic and made efforts to fix the issue ASAP. Kudos to the SB support staff! :)

Cubase 8.0.5 is out...

And I have to ask.. what is the point of me reporting a bug, and Steinberg confirming it, when it's not fixed?

I am EastWest's Online Coordinator

Hello, I probably should have been here sooner but since I encounter Cubase users on so many other forums I did not enroll here. Also in full disclosure, I am strictly a Logic Pro use and so I know noting about Cubase, although I have seen it in action and it is a terrific DAW.

Anyway, my purpose for being here is two-fold:
1. To give you information EW would like you to know and to pass on information from you to EW that you think they need to know. (Please focus on being constructive and not "venting.")

2. When you file a support ticket and are somehow falling through the racks and not getting a response, if you email me your system specifics and a clear description of the issues, I will try to get you the help you need.

My email is:

Re: I am EastWest's Online Coordinator

Contact this helpful EW rep at his email address. Angry replies to this thread were removed. If you want to complain about EW please use their forum, this forum is for complaints about Cubase. ;)

Does anyone find this naming -?- ... 8.0.10 after 8.0.5?

Wouldn't the one that comes after 8.0.5 be 8.0.6 or greater?

Re: Cubase Navigation is the worst!

Messiah -syra,

Thank you for your exalted wisdom, gathered from experiences with another product that somehow hasn't kept your attention away from spreading your voluminous and sanctimonious criticism of this product here.

Some of us here may remember when Apple took over eMagic 10 years ago and promptly jettisoned all PC users of Logic. These forums were inundated with 1,000s of Logic Messiahs, proffering 'improvements' based on Logic after 5 minutes use of Cubase. What a PITA they were. Arrogant and full of similar homilies about 'helping' while whinging continuously. Like a swarm of blowflies -- all noise and disruptive nuisances.

Cubase has different usage paradigms to other DAWs, just as they differ from each other, not surprising considering they are probably the most complex prosumer programs one will come across. It is a fool that expects Cubase to use the same paradigms as the DAW they have spent years learning.

While you show such arrogant disrespect for the product, its developers, and your fellow forum dwellers, you really don't deserve any yourself!

If you have suggestions for improvement, there is the Feature Requests and Suggestions area, where you can make structured suggestions, without the attitude, to your heart's content.

Halion 5 movies

Hi Folks,

I noticed in another thread, some users wanted access to free Halion training movies.

I'm guessing 99% of you here won't need it, but I'm putting together a Halion 5 training course. The first few movies are here:

Re: Cubase not cutting audio regions on Grid

Respectfully, may I suggest that in the future we phrase issues like these as questions rather than as declarations of fact? So instead of "Cubase 8 Pro does not cut Audio regions on the Grid!!" and "This is a major Bug." what about something like "Is it possible that Cubase 8 Pro does not cut Audio regions on the Grid?" and "Could this be a (major) Bug?"

Given all the talented and helpful folks here, problems like these get solved fairly quickly. But when a potential problem is classified as an actual problem, it can slow down future trouble-shooting / bug discovery efforts.
