Re: 7.0.7 late update

I agree with all Martinoto said. Also, I guess it´s a bit of a dilemma to have a divided customer base, the "amateur" and the "pro" crowd.

As someone who makes his living from using DAW´s I have no problem to pay good money, maybe a annual /monthly fee for having a 100% rock solid product, which is doable if the cash inflow is sufficent. However, I can totally get that the "amateur" crowd (who can not write off their DAW spendings) is not so keen on spending lot´s of their hard earned cash for having bugfixes etc.

It´s a delicate balance act I guess.

Re: [OSX] 7.5 graphic issues

I had that problem as well, but it turned out to be the Steinberg Hub crashing on me. When I got it up and running after multiple tries, I disabled it in the preferences and since then CB has been starting up with no problems. Not saying this is necessarily your problem but it helped me.

cheers

Re: Big Balls for future Cubase versions

I do not think Steinberg should waste resources on "vintage emulations" and synths and that kind of stuff. a Daw like Cubase is supposed to be a general purpose workstation, and should focus on perfecting general functions like bounce in place, GUI and overall workflow optimizations. Genre specific sounds and instruments should come from 3:rd party specialised developers.

cheers

Re: Why 7.5 and 7.5.1 is not called beta?

Cubase 7.5.1 works really good for me, no apparent show-stoppers. Actually it works better for me than anyone of the big ones out there(Logic, PT11 are the ones i have extensive experience on with a bias in my knowledge towards Logic).
What I mean is that it doesn´t feel beta. If you want beta, try LPX and come back here after trying to produce a full modern production, and tell us all about it.

Re: Cubase 8 /8.5/9...

Workflow is everything, plug-ins are nothing. I can buy the third party plug ins(fx and instruments) and tailor my sound canvas EXACTLY as I want it like that. I CANT buy general workflow in Cubase from a third party developer, it has to be supplied by Steinberg and this is their job to do. Not to cater for any special type of music, like EDM for example just because it´s massive right now. Maybe in 5 years time EDM is really tired and FOLK is the s**t.. Then Cubase need to be just as good for that.
We must avoid bloat as far as possible and building in lots of synths, "phat edm" fx etc is not the way to do that.

Keep it clean, buy what YOU need and do not make others with no interest in your specific needs pay for it.

Re: What is going on with Cubase 7?

6 months ago I started using Cubase 7.5 after many 10+ years with Logic. I did so because I didn´t like the way Logic was heading, towards the consumer/weekend warrior crowd, so I decided between PTHD and Cubase and finally settled for Cubase(Not for financial reasons, just for the functionality). It is a fantastic software and it´s not "broken" by any means. I really feel I got what I paid for, and more. Stable, complex and responsive(compared to Logic anyway).

Sure there are things I consider as flaws, both major and minor ones, but overall, it´s the most usable DAW out there for me as a hybrid hardware/software type of guy

Re: 7.5.20 Impressions...

I´m impressed with this update. ASIO guard is much better and audiowarping is much improved.

Thanks Steinberg!

Re: UNDO for the mixer. Absolutely necessary!

I don´t know why there even is a debate if there should be undo or not, of course there should be a mixer undo.

The other day I accidentally included a lot of hidden tracks when q-linking some visible ones for a re-routing operation, all tracks was re-routed and it was a mess to get back to the original routings. I wished for a undo then. This cant be prevented by automating stuff.

Same thing if you accidently remove a plug in, no automation will help you there.

Re: UNDO for the mixer. Absolutely necessary!

+1 here, needs to be very separated from the standard undo though, like only available from a mixer menu or only available as kc when mixer is in focus.

ability to disable ALL types of tracks.

Greetings.

As it is now, only audio tracks can be disabled.

For various reasons it would be nice to be able to disable all other types of tracks; instrument, group, fx, folder(and all it´s content)

My main reason is that when using instruments I always bounce to audio when done, but keep the original in a "junk" folder should I need to re do the part. But I need to disable the track bit by bit, vsti and every insert. Not a biggie maybe for me it would save some time.

Cheers

Re: Stop adding exporting audio to the bottom of an arrangem

workaround: make only the track you want to bounce visible. Bounce track, drag new track above original track, undo visibility change. really quick(if you have keycommands set up for it ofc).

[FR] Ability to edit audio in external editor.

Hi, I would love if you could use an external audio editor in Cubase, like in Logic, Reaper and S1.

Very crucial for me since I do a lot of work in Izotope RX.

thanks a lot

Re: The ultimate arpeggiator!

I would love cubase to be able to load 3rd party MIDI-inserts. (Like LOGIC PRO X can do). That would solve many things..

The routing needed now for using 3rd party mfx puts me off using it so much

Re: Elastic Audio like in PT

+1 warp markers and time manipulation directly in the arrange events is a must. Too cumbersome to open editor and do it there. It is really a chore to, for example, manually time align the content of different events on different tracks. Look at PT and Logic- simple and efficient.
