MIDI OUT from UR22

Yes I’m currently running Cubase7.5. And this setup is really intuitive and works instantly!
Though now I can’t play different voices of the KB, it outputs the default piano sound only. Seems like I got to dig into Manuals for MIDI modes and transfer channel etc.

  1. Add an audio track in the DAW. Make it so that its audio input points to the inputs on your audio interface where the sound of the keyboard you are hoping to control is going.

This sounds clear, too. But since UR22 has only two inputs (one is occupied by the mic), think I’d stick with MIDI.
The KB (VR09) goes to another mixer to connect to speakers, by the way.

  1. Either enable direct monitoring on the controlled keyboard’s interface inputs or enable track monitoring on the audio track so you can hear it.
  2. Select the MIDI track in your DAW and start playing your “upper KB”. You should hear the other keyboard being controlled now.

Just curious, is the MIDI out on an audio interface just designed specifically for DAW playback? Such as controlling a hardware synth?
Anyway, the main routing has already been made clear, many thanks to you!
