How to improve OS X Performance?

Postby Charlemagne » Thu Sep 26, 2013 5:05 pm

Hi all,

I have Cubase 7.06 running on my Mac. I've noticed I get a lot fewer plugin instances on it than on something like Logic or Reaper (like half as many to be honest). I've made sure ASIO Guard is on for those plugins. This is with 128 buffer (same as the other programs).

Is there something else I need to be doing to improve the performance? I'm literally experiencing < 50% of the instances I can get elsewhere.

Thank you!

Shouldn't be that bad. There's a post at Gearslutz talking about it generally http://www.gearslutz.com/board/9454202-post82.html

Thanks - was that the right post? I don't see anything about performance optimizations?

it was just to illustrate. the first thing I would try, would be turning off asio guard. odd, but true
