MOUSE LEFT CLICK WON'T WORK WITH FADERS

Postby shark123 » Sat Nov 23, 2013 1:39 pm

In Cubase 7, and ONLY in Cubase 7, I cannot move the faders by left clicking on them and dragging. Only the wheel of the mouse works. This is also the case when using the sliders in vocal processing (pitch correcting etc.)
However, the mouse DOES work with the faders of VST instruments in Cubase 7.
I have gone through all the preferences and cannot find anything to solve this.
I am sure it is not the mouse settings because it works with Cubase 5/Windows XP on another drive.
My new drive for Cubase 7 is using Windows 7, but as I say, the mouse works with all other devices but not Cubase 7 faders.
Please help! This is driving me nuts!

I tried disabling the factory preferences and it made no difference. I even tried a different mouse; no luck.
But thanks for trying to help me.
I don't see any references to "mouse problems" on the knowledge base, so it look like I will need to contact the local agents.
Thanks!

If the preferences did not help, I would try re-installing Cubase next.

Look at your current setting for Preferences --> Editing / Audio --> Use Mouse Wheel for Event Volume and Fades.

If it is checked, try unchecking it, see what happens with the faders, then check it again to see if the behaviour is different.

I don't know whether checking does prevent left-click adjustments with the mouse, because I unchecked it early on to stop inadvertently adjusting my automation levels.

Yeah, I tried unchecking that preference setting. It made no difference. But thanks.

I had a similar problem some time ago with one of the earlier Cubase 7 versions, and none of my controllers worked. Tried everything to no avail. Then Windows loaded some updates, restarted and everything was working fine. Since then, I've never experienced the same issue again. So, by all means, the first thing to try is a good ol' reboot.
