Rhythmic augmentation/diminution

Rhythmic augmentation/diminution

Postby JamesHumbers » Tue Mar 11, 2014 12:17 pm

Hi all,

I'm looking for an iPad app to teach rhythmic augmentation/diminution to students. As I'm sure you all know, this isn't the same as quantaization: I need to be able to have every note and silence increased or decreased by a user-defined ratio. Made proportionately longer or shorter, you might say, so that the whole selection ends up longer or shorter by that same ratio.

At the moment I can't see a way of doing this in Cubasis, but if I'm wrong, please could you let me know? Or if you know another iPad app that does this simple operation, I'd also be interested!

Very best,
James

Thanks - that actually gives me a few more ideas!

I'm told SymphonyPro does this with notation, fwiw, tho still nothing for midi.

Cheers,
James
