These are the steps to record Korg iM1 in Cubasis:
(1) Create an audio track in Cubasis
(2) Tap “Routing” tab in inspector
(3) Tap on “Mono input” and choose “Inter-App” from “Audio Inputs” list
(4) Choose “iM1” from “Inter-App Audio” list
Now Korg iM1 has been inserted as Inter-app audio instrument and its audio output can be recorded in Cubasis.
The IAA apps that are not listed as instruments (only for audio track inputs) are in fact IAA generators (= only for audio tracks) and not IAA instruments, i.e. they cannot receive MIDI via IAA (only via CoreMIDI).
Cubasis works as intended and functions similar to GarageBand and other apps, Korg iM1 (same for the other Korg instrument apps) is limited to IAA generator functionality and therefore cannot receive MIDI via IAA (only via CoreMIDI).
