upgrade from 5.5.3 to 6.5 question

Hello,
just want to make sure before I commence:

I just bought the C6 upgrade (from C5) for $199 and want to know if I have to pay the $50 again to upgrade to 6.5? The upgrade from 5 to 6.5 is $199 on Steinberg’s online shop, but I bought it through Sweetwater and the boxed product I received appears to be for 6 with no mention of 6.5 anywhere.

Sweetwater says the upgrade to 6.5 is free if 6 was purchased after 1/1/2012 (which it is in my case) but I just want to make sure.

You mean when you’re installing the update?

I don’t think it matters whether it’s present or not.

Hi guys, this is my 1st post here, so here it goes

I bought Cubase 6 GBES on Thomman Musikhaus on 2012/01/07.

A couple of days/months (dunno exactly) Steinberg released the 6.5 update.

My question is, do I have to pay for the 6.5 update?!

At the end of February.

If you activated (purchase date is irrelevant) Cubase 6 or Cubase Artist 6 after January 1, 2012; you are eligible for the free grace period update.

Did you read the link I posted?
You’ve got the license for it, but haven’t installed it yet (it’s a separate update from 6.0.7).
Put your USB e-licesnser number into this page:

and it’ll give you a link to download the 6.5 update.

Your 6.5 license will remain on your USB e-licenser permanently.
You don’t need to buy it later.
