I’m buying a new computer and looking for a fast SSD for sample libraries like Omnisphere/Trillian, EWQL, Halion and Kontakt.
What is the most important benchmark when it comes to instrument pre-load time. (I mean the time from selecting a sound until you can play it).
How important is the blocksize. 4k are normal on Windows. How much benefit do you get from 32k or 64k blocks. It looks like for random reads the blocksize is important. And what block size would you recommend. I would guess 32k or 64k.
