VST 2 discontinued?

Postby Jperkinski » Thu Sep 05, 2013 8:32 pm

I just heard about Steinberg ending VST2 support.

Does this mean that future versions of Wavelab will no longer load VST 2 versions?

Most of my stuff is VST3 but Sonnox Inflater and UAD is still at VST 2 and Sonnox recently told me there may not be a VST 3 anytime soon because it would be of little value to the end user.

No, you heard about VST2 development ending. All it means is that there won't be any new versions of the VST2 software development kit that programmers use to create VST2 plugins; they can still use the current version and the plugins created will continue to be supported by Steinberg hosts.

Thanks, this is what I was hoping.
