As a last defence against overs, I use "Barricade" by ToneBoosters http://www.toneboosters.com/tb-barricade/
Very transparent, with look-ahead and inter-sample peak detection in line with EBU R128 spec, and K-system metering.
Also very cheap at £20 or so.
