Cubase 5 crashing when trying to save project.

Hi all,

This is my first post here at the forum, but I’ve been a Cubase user since SX 3.

I am using Cubase 5.5.3 in Windows 7 64 bit and lots of Kontakt and Play instruments. All are the latest versions. All 64 bit. My computer is Intel i7 with 12 gigs of ram, and six hard drives.

At first everything was fine and was working very smoothly. First problem that occured was that when exporting a song Cubase told me that CPU overload or disk overload occured. Even if I’ve been exporting much larger songs and CPU or disks not even breaking a sweat. It still happens but it’s really a random thing.

My biggest problem at the moment is that when I am working on a big project(about 9 gigs of ram in use) I can save the project at first, but if I try to save it again(save as) it opens the folder window and freezes or crashes without any warning. Same thing if I want to export the audio and want to change folder, it just freezes in the window where I would chose the path or the name of the file. I upgraded the Cubase to the 5.5.3 today but it didn’t help with this problem. It’s really annoying. If I want to make different mixes or versions of the songs I cannot. :frowning: I am stuck with one song under one name. Same thing with exporting I cannot choose where to export or the name of the file.

Here’s the latest error message from Cubase CrashDumps folder:
