Do I need to take chipset into account?

Postby Peter H. Boer » Wed Jun 04, 2014 7:40 pm

I'm finally going over to the dark side and build a 64-bit machine.

Most likely I'll be using a I7-4770K processor.
Using a RME UCX for soundcard.
Windows 7 64 bit professional
Been very happy using a stable ASUS P5B for the last xx years, so probably opting for ASUS again.

It will strictly be DAW computer, no gaming at all.
And as DAW lots of audiotracks, and plugins, but only limited VST-I-s

Do I need to take chipsets into account when looking for the board, or are there some that I must at least avoid?

Any tips are welcome :)
