Does Halion support half-pedaling sustain?

Postby Kta » Fri Feb 08, 2013 12:47 am

Hi guys

I'm wondering if Halion supports half-pedaling sustain. So far it seems to me that it doesn't.

(For those who don't know what exactly is a "half-pedaling sustain", this is a feature that allows the sustain length to be varied depending on how deep the pedal is pressed, so you get a more realistic sustain, like you would get on a real piano. But in order to get this, you must have a sustain pedal (e.g. Roland DP-10) that transmits continuous data like an expression pedal and not just on/off messages like a standard sustain pedal; and also you need a keyboard (e.g. Roland Fantom) or a software instruments (e.g. Pianoteq) that knows how to interpret that data and vary the sustain length accordingly.)

True Pedalling MIDI mod I 'think' will do it, alas I don't have suitable pedal to test it.

Thank you very much! I'm gonna check that out. So far, this seems to be the only solution.

Cheers
