[Bug] MediaBay sorting issues

Since I lost some audio tracks due the UNDO bug, I had to recover some tracks from the Mediabay trash.
And while using the Mediabay intensively, I must say it is a PITA.

The major problem is the file sorting on date and size!
A 1.3MB file seem to be smaller than a 106KB file, since the the SI prefix is omitted.
April 10, 2013 took place before October 30, 2012 for it checks only the first digits.

Another important issue is, we can’t tell IF and WHERE a file is used in a project.
It is impossible to say if a file is orphaned or not. I don’t even dare to think about what would happen if I would delete some used files.
The use of folders, names and icons can enhance the use of the Mediabay.

After reading also some reports about recent recording dates in 1985 and 1986 (Steinberg Forums and [Bug] Audio Tracks Disappear After Undo, Again - Cubasis - Steinberg Forums), one would suspect a serious date bug!

Can this bug confirmed and by a Steinberg employee?

Hello,

this is indeed a bug. However, we do not assume a connection between the issues.

Kind regards,
Frieder

Hi Frieder, can you give an estimate in what release these issues will be repaired?

Hi,

the sorting issue will be fixed in the upcoming update.

Kind regards,
Frieder
