Crashes sometimes during save - changes not saved

Postby jakobjoergensen » Sun Jun 23, 2013 6:07 pm

I love Sequel. It's fairly advanced tools combined with simplicity.

This makes it even more frustrating when Sequel crashes during save, and changes one has made are not saved.

If a new file is made as "Save as" the file is saved, but when I restart Sequel 3 it's the previous save which loads.

I run Mac OS X latest version and fully updated Sequel 3.
I've run a permission check and retried. Still fail.

Any hot suggestions?

I have this exact same problem. Still waiting for a solution. My project has been refusing to save for over a week. You might want to try filling out a support request form if you haven't already. I did....still waiting to hear back from Steinberg. Frustrating.

Steinberg is working on it. I send crashreports and tunes every time it happens.

I have a hunch, it could be the Groove Agent One. Too bad to exclude that from music creation, since it's really one of Sequel 3's great assets :)

Good to know someone is working on fixing this. It's a huge problem that basically renders the software useless. If we can't save our work, then what's the point? If you are told the solution to this, PLEASE let me know. You're having the same issue so I know you understand how frustrating this is.

I've had an email from support, which says they've received the files and are able to reproduce the error.

Think it's the Groove Agent One which scuffles the app. It's one of the major assets of Sequel 3, but it is possible to enjoy it with out.

I hope they'll get it fixed, so passion can be a sound form once more :)

I also think it's the Groove Agent One. Noticed some funny things with it. For example, the pads will rename themselves while the samples I programmed into them remain intact. Also, if I freeze the track, drums will be non existent during playback. Hope it gets fixed soon! :) Let me know if you hear anything. Cheers.

I've been asked by Steinberg to create a new account and on this new account reinstall Sequel 3 for testing purposes.

It's done now, and the new account install works flawlessly, while the normal account Sequel 3 still crashes. I start to have a feeling it might have something to do with Groove Agent One and images.
If I ad an image after have used Groove Agent One there is the change the file might be corrupt and crash Sequel 3.

Would that ring a bell for you?

I actually have not added images to my tracks. What are the steps to reinstall Sequel ? If I reinstall will I lose all my work?

Uha, call support. They can help. I use mac. No issues. Work saved in to local folders. No problem using samples from noral account > new account. Not even problems with this silly ekey thing. Sequel 3 uses the one already installed in the application folder.

So you did not put any icons, like drums or guitars on to your tracks from the Track Picture Page (3)?

I will tell support about your experience, but for our benefit you could take it up with them your self via phone. Sure they'll listen and help.

No, I did not add track pictures for this particular project that is crashing. There's actually a customer support phone number? :o I was unaware of that. Is it located on this site somewhere? Sorry, I'm a real newbie at all of this. :?

It's quite easy to find at http://www.steinberg.net/en/support/sup ... ntact.html ... at the bottom of the page, select your language or region. Voilá :)
