Hi ron, I’m no expert but I think the lightning to usb is the standard way for connecting midi devices that have usb midi out to the ipad. I’m using an Apogee Duet now, but I have used connected midi devices via the camera connection kit. As long as the controller is core midi compliant it should work without issue.
