Black midi

The keys to understanding and appreciating a Jackson Pollack, the first of the flick drip and fling paint at canvas modern artists, are to see it in person not reproduction and see it many times. On one visit pick a color, say blue, and follow the lines and concentrations around the piece. On another trip pick a different color. Begin to see how the layers were built up and how they interact.

Many people will never like modern art just as most people don’t like jazz. But this Black Midi stuff is hard to approach musically. I think it’s a visual art or a synesthesia of the visual and aural. Not sure it’s worth getting to know.
