VST Amp Rack and Other Effects are Not Working

When I play my guitar (directly into MOTU 896mk3 Hybrid) in Cubase 6.54, I do not hear any effects. I used to use VST Amp Rack on a monitored track to practice and record. The recording would play back fine. Since a Windows 5 upgrade, I can not do this. Is there a setting somewhere that was inadvertently changed?
