Cannot select record option

Hi anyone, I am using an MR816csx with Cubase 6. Haven’t used Cubase for about 2 years and am a bit rusty here. I have a mic set up into Audio 01 and Cubase is picking up the signal ok. But I cannot select Record (the bullseye icon does not go red). I must be missing something pretty obvious but cannot pinpoint it. Any ideas greatly appreciated

Do you have any tracks armed for recording?

Hi guys many thanks for your quick replies. It turned out to be simply the @save@ location of the project file needed updating! It only showed up as a problem when I closed the file. Reopened the file and then the record option was available. All sorted, thanks.
