I have WL Version 8.0.3 (build 698) - 64 bit running Win7x64
and when I do a “save as” with audio files it crashes sometimes…maybe when Nuendo 6 is open in the background? not sure.
with these 2 errors:
it’s always .wav…i will observe if it’s more 24 bit or 16 bit.
I am wavelab user/fan since 1.5 (or was it 1.6 ?).
I never experienced crashes like this.
I got the feeling it’s more happening if i drag/drop files from Nuendo to WL and there save a differnent named version, but i will explore this more.
any ideas already?
much appreciated
thx
Do you work with Nuendo and WaveLab at the same time
and is it the same wav from Nuendo open in WL ?
even check VST Audio Connections… Options tab
“Release driver when WaveLab is in background”
and same in Nuendo
Hi,
just observed:
Nuendo is NOT open in background, as is NO other app. (except RME Digicheck since like 10 years or so
I did not “Save as”, sorry i think i mixed that one up… i did a CNTRL+S wanting to overwrite the file= crash with same errors as mentioned above.
its all .wav 24 bit files. just edited some premasters in 24 bit and wanted to save one after a edit and boom crash.
pff maybe i should try WL 8 32 bit? or reinstalling?
what is QtGui4.dll and baios.dll? maybe its the gfx card? i got a quite simple ATI Radeon HD5400 series.
EDIT: I just tried the 32 bit version and did a reboot: same anomaly. i can even replicate it now:
open any version of WL, open 24 bit 44.1, stereo file, cut a little start, press cntrl+s and crash!
I can however work in an Audio Montage and do a CNTRL+S.
no plugins involved.
still all ideas welcome .
thx
Philippe,
that seems to do the trick!
strangely enough it works now, i could not get WL8 to crash anymore with the problematic files.
hopefully it stays that way! knock on wood
