My $70 statement was made by converting 49.99 euros to USD. So, if correct, better yet as that's only a couple of dinners at the Outback Steakhouse. :)

Unfortunately, that is what I was worried about. In every multiout setup I use, have many sub groups that those outs are routed to. I want to track preset the entire tree. Not just the outs from the VSTi. For example, in my stock BFD3 setup, I have all stereo and mono outs turned on. I have a kick sub mix (group track), a snare sub mix, hat sub mix, toms sub mix, etc ... for a total of around 90 tracks. The FX are typically on the subs, not the individual pieces, although there is some of that as well, but those settings are useless without the group tracks they normally feed.

I will say, the QC udpates in the rack do look like they have potential. I saw a "page" item. So, if the CMC-QC can flip between those pages and we can save a per instrument bank of preset pages (and there is a key command to flip between the pages), then that is an excellent start to improving QCs. The next level would be doing the same thing with inserts, so you can page QCs per insert slot for plugins!

I like how this new version took quite a few features found in Logic and Pro Tools and made them its own.
Looks like Steinberg is working really hard on establishing it's products as "Pro" products and based on the recent releases of Logic Pro X and ProTools 11, Steinberg is convincing many people.

Now the only thing missing is a Ableton Live like phrase environment. Perhaps this will arrive in Cubase 8.

For now - I'm looking forward to Cubase 7.5!!! :)
Thank you Steinberg!

There isn't really anything that interests me (as usual, the update is mainly targeted to the dance music crowd), but I'll have to update anyway because version 7 will soon be orphaned (you'll get maybe ONE update and then you're in the dark...), no matter what the people at Steinberg say (don't particularly trust ANY corporation.)

History would show a different scenario, one of awe-inspiring greatness as literally all bugs are addressed post-release of a new version.

Funny, when I go to Avid's forums the users there said the same things about Pro Tools 10 and now 11. Basically, how the new features are things that Cubase had for years.

Whatever though. I'm really looking forward to the new Groove Agent. I remember discussing it in a thread here and they obviously listened. Bounce in Place would be the only other thing missing from my workflow but there is a thread in here that shows a macro you can use that pretty much does the same thing. Either way, great music has been made with lesser than what we all have.

Keep up the good work Steinberg!

well its not shown in that video. but anyway its a good start, far better than before, even the"annoying multi out assignments" is now time saver and not annoying anymore :!: even if its not possible now to save all Tree path with groups etc.. maybe they implement it in future.

Brought Cubase 7 this month, so I get the free upgrade to 7.5..... I was thinking about Halion 5, but wondering if I get it and a upgrade will cost me on a couple of months. Since I have NI Maschine 2.0 should I get the crossgrade KOMPLETE 9 ULTIMATE 50% off for $374.99 ?

That is absolutely correct. All DAWs had some innovative features which at some point were implemented in other DAWs. Cubase had clip gain for example. Pro Tools had Playlists. So in the Cubase 7.5 we gain Playlists functionality. That's a good steal from ProTools! :)

If you have Kontakt and know how to use it, you really don't need Halion. The former is way way more powerful and there's nothing Halion has than Kontakt doesn't. Definitely go for Komplete.

The main feature additions are great and shows Steinberg does listen! I will absolutely be using the track visibility & new instrument track capabilities from day one.

I may be getting my hopes up that the core audio engine will be more stable but I have a feeling it will be comparable to 7.0.6.

What about groove agent SE !!!

this update brings more funtions + kits to the MPC style, much loved Groove Agent - for me this is very welcome and a very powerful update to Cubase for producers. Whether you use libraries or record your own sounds the Cubase integration makes this a joy to use and I look forward to getting my mitts on this great bit of kit.

Thank you Steinberg :D :D :D :D :D

well lets put it this way ,im normally trying to be on steinbergs side but today the seminar was a nightmare , 1/2 an hour of the hour trying to setup and once it was setup certain pages could not be opened , whether it was just graphic projector issues or Cubase that remains to be seen , but apart from the visibility addition on the project page there was nothing worth while for me , so if you want to pay for another reverb , a light version of GA4 , loopmash fx's and bug fixes , go a head but form now im doing what ive done before . bought sx ,stayed on sx till sx3 and then c5 ,c6 ,c7 and I think i'll wait and see what happens in the next few versions as ive got everything I need . ;-)
