ah i just got it working. the issue is, when i move the event (and its automation follows along, since my ‘automation follows events’), then it still keeps selecting the range of automation where the event originally was. so the event has moved, its corresponding automation has moved too, but when i click the event, it gets selected, plus the empty automation region of where the event originally was gets selected. it’s a nice find though, looks like either some accidental feature that’s a result of some synergy of functions, or something to be refined in the future.
