Cubase 7.07 Crashes on Mixdown 100%

Postby SebastianVtr » Tue May 13, 2014 6:04 pm

Hello,
I've recently finished a track with about 42 channels (Not much) 10 of which are 3rd party VSt's (Sylenth1, Omnisphere, Alchemy, JP6k). I Started the mix-down and it all starts perfectly fine. But when the Mix-down reaches 100% Cubase 7.06 completely freezes and it crashes. I have tried disabling some of the Vsts cause i have heard issues with some of them but i disable them and the same thing keeps happening. I would really appreciate anyone's help on the matter.
Thanks in advance!

Are you mixing down to wav?....do you have a viable location selected to export to?
Have yo tried both realtime and offline?

Hey grim, Thanks for your reply!
I am mixing down to WAV. i switched the location a couple of times... still no luck. I did real time Exporting and it told me it could not be done due to CPU overload. Did offline and it still crashes at 100%. Very Frustrating :(.

Does this play through ok without the asio meter overloading?

Hey grim! After hours of disabling plug in after plugin i Found out what the problem was... I deleted all the channels containing the Omnisphere Plugin and it mixdown No problem... I found out that Omnisphere was out of date and i updated the software... However after i updated the plugin i went back to the Mixdown (with omnisphere back in the track) and it crashed again.... Do you how i can go about that and see how i can fix the problem?? and yes it plays ok through the asio meter.
I appreciate your help!

I figured out!!! For some reason Omnisphere is bugged in some way and it will crash it. What i did was Freeze the instrument channels (Omnishphere Channels) and and marked "Unload instrument when frozen". After that I mixdown just a portion of the track and it worked!! I will let you know if the rest of the track Mixdown properly....

Hope that works for you....if not you can always record live via a phantom bus....post back if you need instructions for this.

Well briefly you would set up a new stereo output in vst connections....do not connect it to anything.

Then you will need to route your mix to this.....unfortunately you can't route the stereo out directly to it so you have to switch all the channels currently routed to stereo out to the new phantom out. (You can use shift alt to apply routing to all selected tracks)
If you have any master bus fx, you'll need to move these to the new output bus too.

Then you can just create a new Stereo track and set the new bus as it's input...arm record the track, hit record and let the song play through to the end.

I had this problem too, but for me the latest version from Spectrasonics' website cured the issue.
