Cubase startup time

Postby TheNavigator » Wed Jul 30, 2014 8:19 am

Can you please make Cubase start faster, just by parallelizing the initializations?

This should take a junior developer about 3 - 4 days of work.

Thanks.

Main device: Cubase 7.5 64 bit on Windows 8.1 (4930k @ 4.1 GHz, 32 GB of RAM, 3 SSDs), Halion 5, Padshop Pro, RME Hammerfall DSP + Multiface, Avid Artist Control V2, Roland A88, AKG K701 headphones, lots of other nice stuff
Mobile cutlery: iPad Air 2, Cubasis (always the latest version), Audio Bus 2, Focusrite iTrack Dock, one or the other cheap USB MIDI keyboards

Favorite synthesizers: u-he DIVA, Padshop Pro, Halion 5

This also applies to plugin initialization - even a total newbie can start a new thread for each plugin. Especially important on "groundhog day" (today I had to wait for about 10 minutes for Cubase to start).

Plz gief! :-D

Not telling you guys how to do it but, I and many of my clients/colleagues would love for Cubase to start up more quickly. My Cubase template currently has 9 VePro instances and about 100 audio returns from those instances and my session takes 4 minutes to load. And its not the VEPro load time as those instances are decoupled. I longingly look at my colleagues that use Logic and DP and their sessions load in under 30 seconds....
Mac Pro 8-Core Intel Xeon OS 10.9.5 32GB of Ram
Cubase 7.5.3 Running in 64-Bit Mode
Steinberg UR824
VE-Pro on 3 PC's
