Not sure I get what you mean.
You can assign the Play or Rec. functions to a MIDI trigger with Generic Remote. I use it all the time to remote record drums. I have 3 triggers on the drum rack for rec/play/stop respectively.
Do you mean you want to be able to turn on/off the count-in?
