Video Export option

Postby Toronja » Tue Mar 05, 2013 1:49 pm

I think this is a problem for people that work in film features like me (and I think many others).
I have to bounce a mix and open Pro tools/premiere/fc or another soft just for this, the replace audio from a video option is no the solution, I thought Stein. team was going to add this option in C7.

The "replace audio in video file" option DEFINITELY needs to be improved upon.

1. It requires me to export a dialogue/music mix that is the exact length of the video. Then duplicate the video file (so I don't replace the audio in the original) and then after these two laborious steps I can finally combine the audio and video files via "replace audio in video file". I only use this option when working on short 2-3 min commercials, when I am working on a film or tv show, I have use pro tools.

2. The two things that pro tools does better for me (a film/tv composer) is "video playlists" and "bounce to quicktime movie" It is so quick and efficient to bounce a quicktime for a director/client. Please Steinberg, let's get these features in Cubase so I never have to use pro tools again!! : )

Very useful feature.
(scoring for film too)

PS : video file doesn't mean "QuickTime" ! it could be AVI or MPEG etc. ;)

Yes, it would be cool and i guess maybe easy for Steinberg as they do Nuendo.

Now more audio work are done for video....
I'm glade we can work in sync with video in Cubase, but don't understand why we can not finalize our work with the video.
Unfortunately, i have to use additional sofware just to associate the finalize sound track to the video.

If i would need to a deep editing video i would probebly look for Nuendo, but as a only sound editing to video Cubase is great and it would be so helpful to be able to export both media.

I don't have Nuendo and Pro Tools, but as i know Nuendo is a audio and a video editing.

Cubase is a audio editing with video sync and no video editing, and it's find like this, it does the job good.

Even if we would be able to export the video with the sound in Cubase it will not decrease the Nuendo user as they use Nuendo for video editing and of course audio to.

For me Cubase will be complete with first the "bounce in place" and then this video export option :D

On scoring projects for day-to-day sending QuickTime movies w/ my music to directors the only thing I need Pro Tools for is its "Bounce To QuickTime Movie" feature, since Cubase can't do that. Please oh please add that feature to Cubase so I don't need to use Pro Tools!

Especially now that Pro Tools 11 doesn't offer the Production Toolkit, so the only way to have multiple video files in a session is to buy Pro Tools HD which they only sell with an interface. You're looking at the cheapest 5k to get the HD native and a Omni. Avid has really left a gaping hole here than can be filled by Cubase/Nuendo. Give us "bounce to video" and "video playlists" and I'd even be willing to pay extra for it!!

In fact even Logic can bounce a selected section of a quicktime just like Pro Tools and it can do it offline!! Even better than Pro Tools. Please Steinberg, let's add this feature to Cubase/Nuendo. I lose so much time having to open other DAWs just to make quicktimes for clients!
