Do you have “Audio Hardware Setup” in the Cubase Devices menu??
This should open the panel where you can make some basic routing settings.
Now open the mixer and make sure input channels are visible.
Open the extended mixer view.
At top of fader section, right hand side is a small downwards arrow. Click on that and select “Hardware” from the drop down menu.
